During her longtime work on several international arthouse projects, Lissi gained comprehensive expert knowledge in producing international cinematic feature films. She supervised several projects (i.e. WADJDA by Haifaa Al-Mansour, THE FUTURE by Miranda July or CIRKUS COLUMBIA by Danis Tanovic) throughout development, financing, shooting and postproduction. While she was studying film and television production at the HFF Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg, she used her experience for many fictional and documentary short films, some of which were shot abroad, for example in Iran, Italy and Austria.
She was a scholar for Locarno Summer Academy 2011, Robert Bosch Coproduction Market in Sarajevo in 2013, the Arab Animation Forum at ITFF Stuttgart and participated in the Bosch Project Market in Amman in 2015, where she extended her so far existing international network.
In 2013 she founded the production company Kabinett Film and successfullly started to develop several national and international short film projects and produced as a delegate producer THE WILD BOAR and HEAD FIRST. Lissi’s script consulting work as a producer during the last years strengthened her dramaturgical experience and lead to a new focus: writing on her own script, LA GATTA STRANIERA (THE STRAY CAT), a poetic episode movie set on a little island in Southern Italy.
After graduating from her Media Management Studies at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, Austria in 2007, she started to work in the editorial department for children´s news at ORF and soon broadened her experience as production / postproduction coordinator and unit manager for several television formats. In 2010 Margot started to work in the line producing department for Mona Film (Austria) and Tivoli Film (Germany), managing mainly TV primetime productions for ARD, ORF and ZDF as well as international coproductions and gained production experience with South Africa, Czech Republic, France, The Netherlands, Vietnam, Myanmar.
During this work Margot discovered her passion for international cinema and decided to apply for Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris in 2014. The Atelier is a one year program on producing internationally, with a special focus on the German and French coproduction market where she also produced together with Laure Dahout the feature fiction short THE BLUE SOPHIA, which was coproduced with ARTE/SWR, Filmakademie Baden Württembeg and La Femis. After graduating in September 2015, Margot joined Kabinett Film as a producer and is now applying her expertise on international documentary and fiction feature projects besides working in sales and acquisitions for Pluto Film Distribution Network, both based in Berlin.
